Welcome. You have just opened a chapter in your life that will be a very important decision for you and your loved ones. Searching for the right services is a challenging and sometimes difficult task that we all have to take. What happens to a loved one when they can no longer take care of themselves? Should they be placed in an assisted living facility, a board and care, a nursing home or should we keep them at home — a home that they have probably known for the last 40-50 years, that they have designed, decorated, loved, cared for, and put final touches on to make it comfortable for themselves and their family.
I have been in home care for the past 27 years working in an administrative capacity around the country opening home health agencies that were Medicare certified and personal attendant agencies.
Since 1986, I have owned and operated a personal attendant agency (non-medical) called Special Care Nursing Services, Inc. At Special Care Nursing we provide care to frail elderly, persons recuperating from surgery/illness, respite for family and/or caregiver, assistance in hospice.
Our services are provided in private residences, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, out patient surgery, board and care, or wherever a client needs us. We provide services 24 hours per day 7 days per week.
Special Care Nursing staff are experienced in providing care to the frail elderly and experienced with clients who need assistance with daily activities of living, personal hygiene, dressing and grooming, medication reminders, transfers, diet monitoring, light housekeeping, errands and doctor appointments.
Our staff has had experience in caring for clients who have had a recent stroke, Alzheimer's/dementia, ALS (Lou Gehrig's), Parkinson's, multiple sclerosis, diabetes, cancer, hip or knee surgery, mental or physical disabilities.
Care begins with that first call by reviewing your needs through family involvement and discussions with our staffing coordinator and then our supervisor. With this information we develop an individualized program to meet your needs, and match you for these with the best caregiver we have available for these needs.
It doesn't stop there. Once the caregiver has been placed in your home the communication continues between the client, family, caregiver, our office, and visits with our care manager/supervisor. After hours and on weekends we can be reached in less than 5 minutes via our answering service. We are committed to providing quality care.
If for some reason you are not happy with the caregiver we have assigned, please do not hesitate to call us and explain the situation. We will be more than happy to send someone else. If you are unhappy with our services for any reason we want to know about it immediately. If you want to cancel with our agency and try another one, please just let us know.
